Victoria Esplanade is a beautiful and extensive inner city park adjacent to Manawatu River opened to mark Queen Victoria's 60th Jubilee.
Manawatu Gorge is a scenic divide between two mountain ranges (Tararua and Ruahine) that border the Manawatu Region, and a main route between the Region and Hawke's Bay.
Feilding Saleyards Tours
Learn the fascinating history of selling livestock, one of New Zealand's oldest traditions, which dates back to 1880's.
Tours are every Friday at 11am, bookings must be made in advance through the Feilding and District Information Centre.
Feilding Farmers' Market
Feilding Farmers' Market is on every Friday from 9am-2pm. 'Eat seasonally, buy local and live well' is the market's mantra and there's not an imported product in sight. Stall holders and artisan food producers sell a range of fresh fruit and vegetables, pate, specialty bread, wine, hummus, pesto and much more. Enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of this country-meets-town market.

Te Apiti Wind Farm
Te Apiti Windfarm Lookout is a stunning view point gives you a panoramic view of the Manawatu and Tararua Regions. Stand beneath one of the mighty wind turbines, the sheer size and height will amaze you and on a clear day you can see far and wide towards the horizon. The gates to the windfarm lookout are open from 8am-5:30pm.

Visitor Information Throughout New Zealand there is a network of visitor information centres called, i-SITEs. These are Tourism New Zealand endorsed centres that provide free and impartial advice to locals and travelers about current events and what there is to see and do nearby. In the case of i-SITE Palmerston North there is free daytime parking directly outside (including for campervans). You just need to see one of the staff members to request a parking permit. Other facilities include free water, showers, baby changing rooms, and public toilets.
