Description

We are located between between Matakana, Pakiri and Wellsford. The property is 50 acres of rolling dairy pasture divided between Barbary hedges with small streams and native trees cutting through. These provide the buffalo with shade and shelter both summer and winter, while also being a secure habitat for an abundance of bird life. The buffalo cows are milked once a day in a traditional herringbone shed adjusted to take their larger size.

Welcome to our website where we give you a glimpse into our fascinating world of water buffalo.

Quietly hidden away in the lush Whagaripo Valley is where our herd dwell. With their quirky natures these large Bubalus Bubalis lovelies are the source of our buffalo cheese business. We keep them happy and they supply us with beautiful white milk for cheese making. We keep things simple with no sprays or chemicals used on the farm and are rewarded with an abundance of wildlife where everything has its own place.

Insect pests are eaten by wild turkeys, quail and pheasants. Moreporks are a nightly lullaby and our honeybees are thriving.
