Overview

Address: Trafalgar St, Nelson Nelson Region

Description

The Nelson Provincial Museum, Nelson As New Zealand’s oldest museum, there’s a heap of history and heritage to be found here. There’s two floors to explore, the lower gallery takes you on an exploration of the history and identity of the top of the South island from Tasman Bay to Golden Bay.

Upstairs, you’ll find ever-changing exhibitions – whether local, topical or international, you’ll no doubt find hours of discovery here – just make sure you don’t need to be anywhere, and settle in! There’s a small entry fee for visitors, but well worth it to get a true feel for the region.
