At the foot of the Remarkable ranges, you would be hard pressed to find a more scenic landscape. Lake Wakatipu is the third largest in New Zealand at 291 square km, reaching depths of 380m.

Description

Surrounded by mountains which rise from its shores, this glacier lake is unique in that the water levels rise and fall about 12cm every five minutes.

Enjoy the lake with a cruise aboard the last remaining coal-fired passenger vessel, still operating in the southern hemisphere or enjoy some water based activities like wakeboarding, water skiing or kayaking.
