Business Type: Abel Tasman

Situated in the Abel Tasman National Park, on the South Islands northern shores, the Abel Tasman Coastal Track showcases everything wonderful about New Zealand....

Address: Tinline Bay, Abel Tasman Nelson Region

Track length – 54.4 km
Duration – 3-5 days

The coastline of this national park is made up of golden sand beaches, granite cliffs and rich forest – all of which you will pass along the way.

Passing through some of New Zealand’s most spectacular scenery with beech forests, golden sand bays, rivers and rocky headlands you will be stunned by the beauty!

The track is able to be walked from either end and although all streams are bridged, there are some tidal crossings, which can only be done within a few hours either side of the low tide.

The track has hut and several campsites options available for a fee.

The track is managed by DOC – Department of Conservation.

You can walk the track independently or as a guided walk.

All relevant information is available from DOC, who look after the track and hut bookings.

As with all great walks in New Zealand – prepare yourself well.

If you do not have 3-5 days to spare – you are able to do day walks from the car parks at no charge, or water taxis are available to get to the beaches, or kayak along the coast.
